Hi,

I have a Linksys WPC54G, and found that after installing the drivers via 
ndiswrapper, it wouldn't "activate" either. then i realised that it'll 
only activate if it's in range of a wireless hub. *smacks forehead*

so make sure you don't make the same mistake i did... :-)
