I submitted a report, will have a look to see if there's anything I can
do to escalate it.

The logs were mostly unintelligible to me, fwiw the crash has an adverse
effect on the powerbook in general and required me to safeboot once to 
fix some errors.

I have now successfully burnt the sarge ppc iso and the gentoo ppc live 
iso using disk utility, hope this information helps.
