IMHO, Epson printers are supported a lot better than most, usually all
you need is to have gimp-print installed. I wish you luck with your HP,
I know I had a heck of a time getting an HP 720c working when I first
started using Linux (circa 1997). But hey, you may find it "just works"
right out of the box... YMMV.
