Miscellaneous problems (sound, DVD writer, USB mp3 player)

Again, just in case someone else runs into the same problems:

* Sound card not working -> mute the "Exchange DAC" channel (I first
though that it was the IEC958 channels, but finally it seems that you
only need to mute the Exchange DAC channel).

* USB MP3 player files getting corrupted / random problems -> reformat
it, and make sure you always unmount before you unplug it.

* DVD writer burns CDs but not DVD -> disable automount for CDs/DVDs

Does anybody knows if automount is supposed to play well with burners?
why is it not automatically disabled when you burn something?
