sound for nis user

Hi,

I use ubuntu in a network enviroment
which manages unix-accounts over nis.

As oldtime debian user I had no problem
to install and configure nis/autofs
but I just can't get the sound
working for nis-users since /dev/mixer
and /dev/dsp is only writeable for
users which are part of the local
audio group:

crw-rw---- 1 root audio 14, 0 2005-01-13 11:19 mixer
crw-rw---- 1 root audio 14, 3 2005-01-13 11:19 dsp

AFAIK there are to ways to fix this
problem:

- add nis user to group:

I have no idea how to add a network/nis user
to a local group. With adduser and the gnome tools
a can only add local user to local groups.
  Is there another way?

- chmod /dev/mixer and /dev/dsp to crw-rw-rw-.

I can do it but after I reboot the machine
udev just sets the permissions again to crw-rw----.

Is there a known solution to this problem?

Regards,
  Johannes
