Nautilus zombified

Hi all,

When I launch nautilus, it uses 99% of cpu while displaying nothing in
the pane. If I kill the process, it reappears with a new process ID, but
in the same state as before. I tried rebooting, apt-get --purge remove
and then reinstalling, and I also deleted my ~/.Nautilus folder - all to
no avail. I would appreciate if someone could clue me into a possible
solution. I really like having a file manager as part of my system.

Thanks in advance,
Clayton
