x.org in hoary [more of a general question]

hi list,
i always read about COMPOSITE and all that stuff that comes with x.org.
but i also always read that its not usable at this time.
as far i understand the readings, some of these extensions relie on the
windowmanager and more to work in the way they should.

so, how far does x.org in hoary include such eyecandy?
or is this too early to ask?
