missing gnome menu entries

Hey people,

I've installed a couple of chess programs, xboard and gnome-chess, but
they don't show up in my games menu. I installed the Debian menu
package, and ran update-menus, but I'm not sure how to tell the Gnome
menu to update. Normally it just works. 

Ideas?
