If "both" is set, the boot stuff will appear on both monitors, the
external and your LCD. In case of "Auto", as far as I experienced it, on
booting the external monitor will be used, if connected. But please
don't ask me, why it solves the problem of the "grabled screen" (at
least in my case with an Acer...)
