Is USB mounting improved under current Hoary?

Yes, this is getting better and so are many other things. The only way
to tell if it will work better on your laptop is to try it out :).

I have been able to use my USB key and digital camera very easily
while using the latest version of hoary. There were some issues last
week but they have been resolved :)
