Vince, finally I understand your point: yes I agree it's not nice to
have for ex. menu-editing not working from gui before gnome-2.10
release, but if not, we had the plain old stuff which only half worked.
One of the advantage of using free software is a quick release cycle,
one thing that free software needs is more integration with standards
like LSB and freedesktop, and this is a move in that direction :)
