Hoary / Gnome 2.10 : worth it ?

I love Gnome, the siplicity and the way it looks, though I have to agree
with Vincent, I'm still waiting for that "killer Gnome" release... can't
see much from 2.8 to 2.10...
what happened to the lilo gui config? and what about the partition
mounter? that was cool! it looks like we are loosing programs... the
menu needs a lot of work, we used to have the ability to change and
add, I installed so many programs with synaptic but they are not on the
menu! this has to be fixed. in many ways kde is far ahead of gnome, it
is much easier for a programer to maintain and create a distro with
kde, and gnome have to pick up it's act or... (don't want to think
about it  :? )
