Debian sid has hplip (0.8.7-4) now: http://packages.debian.org/unstable/utils/hplip But not yet in hoary: http://tinyurl.com/3tkeb I'd love to see hplip. hpijs/hpoj doesn't seem to work for my hp officejet 5510. I ran /etc/init.d/hpoj setup and it scaned usb and found printer, serial# etc. But then it failed: Probing "%001%014"... No device found. -- nealmcb
