Notebook Recommendations

Not everyone thinks highly of Thinkpads.  My mom had one, although it
was several years ago, and the motherboard bit the dust after 3 years
of light use.  I was quoted over $600 to replace the motherboard that
was... out of warranty.  It is still sitting on my shelf.  Maybe it
was a lemon.
