Panasonic CF-51 Sound Problems

Have a Panasonic CF-51 Toughbook with Ubuntu-5.10 and unable to get
audio stream. System sound effects work ok and the Multimedia Systems
Selector tests indicate sound is working correctly. Real v10 and
Crossover Office with Windows Media Player are both installed.  However,
the notebook's speakers or a head set produces no streaming audio, just
Ubuntu system sound effects.
