package request list

Hi,

is there somewhere a list for package requests? I just saw
list for backports.  

I am asking because there exist a nice
program called 'salome' which provides a generic platform
for Pre and Post-Processing for numerical simulation. 

Until now, there are not to many distros which have a
package yet; actually I would say there is none. It would be
nice, if ubuntu is the first one :-)
