Chances are they don't support all the flavours of Linux b/c
... enterprise users don't exactly have need for the latest and
greatest video hardware (how fast does a screen refresh in OpenOffice
really need to run?), and,
... many Linux users run _old_ hardware so they're not likely to be
buying the latest and greatest video cards, and,
... most software that taxes these latest and greatest cards <ahem,
games> are written for Mac OS X or Windows XP anyway so a pure Linux
user isn't going to be running out and buying a video card anyway :-(,
and,
... for simple use (i.e. word processing, web browsing, etc.) most
distros have already developed solutions so why would these
manufacturers bother to devote scarce R&D funds to a segment of the
overall market that is downright _tiny_
