A lot of the manufacturers don't support Linux.  I thought maybe it was the other way around myself.  I've been to ATI Radeon, Nividia, Lexmark, and many others and they all say the same thing:  "We don't support Linux programs."  With all of the diffferent Linux OS's that are available, and Unix systems(including all of the Enterprise versions being run by company networks), you would think it would be profitable for them to support our programs.

OK - it is not easy. When I googled I found zero either with Linux nor
Ubuntu setups. That is extraordinaer seldom. I had the same AC'97, and
just got an external soundcard for other reasons. So I did never find out
if Ubuntu supported it.
