Is Ubuntu's (actually, Linux's) problem with nVidia graphics resolved?

There are a few that have trouble! I don't know all of the model nos., but the Nividia site has a list of models that it does support. I had a ATI Radeon 9200 Pro Graphics card that got totally ruined when I used it with Linux. Since I took it out though, several ATI graphics support files have been added to my current Ubuntu. I have been using my built-in graphics, which is Nividia, and it works fine! The only graphics support files I find in the pkg. mgr. for Nividia, is the update for GLX.

I remember seeing something somewhere to the effect that there is an
nvidia-related kernel bug that is unlikely to be resolved until 2.6.14
