spca5xx broken in ubuntu 5.10?

Hello

I just installed Ubuntu 5.10 on my Laptop and saw that the spca5xx 
driver for webcams is already included :-)

Unfortunatly, none of my webcams are working with the spca5xx driver 
included in Ubuntu 5.10. I tried all my webcams I own 
http://www.kaiser-linux.li/index.php/Linux_and_Webcams. Of course the 
Pixart support to spca5xx was added after the release of Ubuntu 5.10.

But all others give me a kernel crash. I did use the cams in the past 
with "self compiled" spca5xx from the spca5xx homepage in Ubuntu.

Any hint?

BTW, why did you (developers) rename it.
