Problems with Kino

I am a new one in ubuntu, and I have tried everything from Linux forums to 
make work a Camcorder Panasonic PV-DV203D in Kino and it has been not 
possible! Kino does not detec the camera. 

Can anybody help me? 

I have a clon PIV 2.0 GHz, motherboard ECS PT800CE-A, 512 ram PC400, 160 GB 
HD, 	InnoDV -1000LE PCI firewire card, Video NVIDIA AGP GeFOrce2 MX/MX 400 64 
mb sgram, etc. Ubuntu 5.10, KDE 3.5.
