help me

hi all,
i got the ubuntu  breeezy badger version from launchpad team only recently,
and i liked the os .it was juz wen i was about to replace my windows that i
found something.
There is a problem with the os,
i dont get back the gui once i have switched to
any tty(1-6), and wen i press alt+ctrl+f7 again to get back to gui the
system hangs .
i am using p4 1.7ghz, 256 mb ddr ram,intel845glad board
can anyone help me plz to
