help with Epson Stylus Photo 820 printer

I am new to Ubuntu and Linux in general.  I have it all installed and it 
looks like everything works except my Epson Stylus Photo 820 printer.  
Ubuntu can print on my printer, but it will not give me the maintenance 
window.  In Windows, when I print a window pops up with a print tab and a 
maintenance tab (where I can clean the heads before printing).  With Ubuntu, 
the window pops up but there is not maintenance tab.  Not being able to 
clean the heads, it just prints a blank page.

It is likely that all Epson Stylus Photo printers have this problem.  Has 
anyone else run into this problem and solved it?
