I would like good apps Scribus, Inkscape, Sodipodi, Blender, Nvu,
educational packages, Fluxbox, etc. on the installation CD so that
everything that a common home user likes to play with gets installed
by default when one installs Ubuntu.

Ubuntu is already good but if building & shipping additional software
with Ubuntu takes extra space then IMHO shipping additional software
on extra CDs would add more value to Ubuntu rather than shipping 5 CDs
all of which hold the _same_ software. My friends and cousins like
Gimp, Inkscape and other cool apps and they want to play with all of
them. A nicer GUI such as FluxBox would be a compelling reason for
them to convert to Ubuntu.

Just my two cents,
