upgrading kernel in VMware Virtual machine of dapper kills the VM

Hi, I've been following this thread and wanted to tell you that I DID
get Dapper (Flight CD 1) to work in VMware 5.5, however I am not at my
machine now, so will explain best I can.

First of all I tried twice to install Dapper in a fresh VM (with
DEFAULT settings). It would not boot.

Thanks to the original post, I sort of knew what was the problem (SCSI
sda virtual disk). So this is what I did and everything works...
unfortunately it requires creating a new VM:

1) Create a Virtual Machine, but select "custom" (or advanced, I can't
remember off the top of my head).

2) You can stay with all defaults until you get to the virtual disk
section. There you must select the NON-DEFAULT item (one of them I
believe is BusLogic... I can't remember which is which though).

Everything else seems to work fine. I've been able to reboot into
Dapper several times without problems (so far).

I hope that helps!

-Steve.
