How do you know what app is available from where, and by what name?

A small point, but it's not such a good idea to comment the cdrom line. 
Lots of packages don't need upgrading, so if they are the latest version 
on the CDrom, it saves download resources, and is faster.

apt is quite capable of sorting out where the latest version of any 
package lives... whether it be on the CD or on a repository somewhere.
