I need a better VNC viewer..

I've had good luck with xtightvnc. I configure my 1024x768 screen to
come over as a window 900x700 with the -geometry 900x700 when I launch
the server through ssh.

You can probably find the toggle for not sharing the display and scaling
on your local command to launch the viewer, I know I made a custom
shortcut thats a command to the xtightvnc viewer for custom compression,
etc.
