I can't seem to build pine on ubuntu the saga: now it's cc errors??

I assume you are used to it and so want to stick with it, but imho, pine 
is the worst mail client of all time.  Unless you get less than 20-30 
emails a week ( I get well over 1000 ) then I find that pine is 
completely unusable due to lack of indexed searching capability and 
memory mapped IO ( reading in an entire 100+ MB mailbox when you start 
it up takes a long time, and a lot of ram ).

I am not really familiar with other command line mail readers very much, 
but just about anything has to be better than pine.  Emacs has a mail 
and news reading mode, maybe you could look at that?  If I was stuck 
with just the command line all the time, I'd probably spend all my time 
in emacs so I could multi task.
