Where in the (universe?) is a package containing mc??? [midnight commander]

Thank you Tobias, I looked at that. though I must say I've always had
difficulty with the allegedly easier gui tool set...

But thankfully it wasn't necessary to do it that way. 

I had tried to enable everything during the "expert" mode install I was
using to get a little more control of the process where there is a step
to configure apt-get. I had some errors that were I think do to a
mistake I made during the network config step... After I resolved that
error, I used apt-setup from the command line and it seamed to
automatically set me up. Then "apt-get install mc" failed...
Which is when I started this thread.

But it wasn't that I needed to add the repositories, it was a simple
little thing that I have to chalk up to my being a complete idiot!

Apt-get under Ubuntu sets it self up much easier than yum did for
redhat's fedora, but BOTH of then need to have their sources updated.

A step that's featured quite prominently in the docs. But I forgot to do
it. <sigh>

Anyway, All I needed to do was an "apt-get update" Then it was child's
play to install mc with "apt-get install mc"

Now thats a done deal...
