acroread plugin not working

Try installing the packages acroread, mozilla-acroread, and perhaps
acroread-plugins from the universe repository, which you might need to
enable first (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/AddingMultimediaRepositories). I
would recommend installing acroread from this repository even if the way
you did it wouldn't cause any problems...
