Installing Ubuntu on SATA RAID 0

No, they key is getting ubuntu to recognize the raid array.  Using 
another livecd to format the disks won't do you one bit of good because 
the ubuntu setup cd won't recognize them.  Also, if the livecd does not 
work on your system, it is unlikely that ubuntu will work once installed 
either.
