Correct.

This is impossible to determine given that people use Linux and Windows for 
many similar things and many different things:
i)  if Windows is only used for email or web browsing then Linux could 
replace it.
ii) if Windows is used for running a Lexmark Z12 printer, then Linux is NOT 
ready to replace it.

Pick your software tools first, then decide what OS platform it needs to run 
on.

This is (sorta) true although I suspect Linux doesn't care about much, it's 
the community that cares/cares not.

Linux is a tool, not a way of life. It may reflect a way of life or be a 
result of a bunch of people living a certain way of life, but in the end it 
is just a tool.
