A groupware system would be fairly complex to setup, and would replace
whatever you are using now.  The advantages are you get a whole slew
of features at your disposal, but more importantly your contact
database (and more) could be in ldap.  Many programs have some form of
support for ldap, and you should never need to migrate away from ldap
for your purpose.

I've not set one of these up yet, but I have been meaning to.  I think
I'll whip up a vmware install of ubu this weekend and give it a go.

I personally can't wait for some of these projects to start AJAXing
their groupware suites.  I wouldn't mind being able to easily replace
some of the exchange servers I'm forced to look after.  ;-)
