Transferring data - but don't trust your media

CDs are also not long-term storage media.  Most people I know who store
important information on CD recopy it every year.  Good CDs last longer
than cheap ones, and even cheap ones can last years, but eventually you get
interior corrosion problems, and then data is lost.
