mysql prob

hi.

just started using ubuntu for the 1st time  and  trying to get mysql up 
and running ,  ive managed to install it  and get it (into the  system 
tools list )but each time i  try to access it i get an error msg  as follows

cannot launch entry
details:faailed to execute child process mysqlcc  (no such file or 
directory )


can anyone let me know were im going wrong
