Curl, Inc's Surge vs. Ubuntu?

Has anyone had any success installing Curl's Surge RTE with ubuntu? What
you get from http://www.curl.com/solutions/download.php is a RPM. 

I'm waiting to use alien to see if anyone has any other suggestions...

Sadly, they chose very search-unfriendly trademarks. Searching for
ubuntu and curl just doesn't find anything related to what I want :-P
