GDM gone missing

Hi everyone,

Previously, I had both Gnome and KDE installed on my computer. I removed
KDE without issue. Gnome remained and seemed completely stable. The next
time I rebooted my computer, I booted to the command prompt where typing
'GDM' started Gnome. No problem there. The next time I booted, 'GDM' no
longer worked. The files are on my hard drive, but Ubuntu doesn't
recognize the command. Typing 'startx' still starts Gnome without issue.
I'm running Hoary, version 5.04. Any clues?

Thanks very much,
Ben
