Problem with external modem after installing Ubuntu

Hi,

Try to configure your modem with 

$ sudo pppconfig

It's pretty simple. 
Then connect with :

$ pon connection_name

(connection_name is the name you entered for  the connection in
pppconfig)

To disconnect :

$ poff

Moreover there is a shortcut avaible in gnome panel to do that (panel >
add...)
