OK - Settings -- Configure Notifications gets you there a little quicker.

Right - I have that, but I just want to see what the pop-up is like.  I
usually just use an audio notification, but I've b0rked the sound :-)

I can understand that.  I'm not convinced that there should be a kubuntu
list either, because too many KDE users aren't reading _this_ list, but
given that there is a kubuntu list, I realize this really belongs there.
