Easier in Windows?  HA!!!  Have you ever tried using ISA server and 
implementing a real firewall?  It's UGLY!  There is little help online 
for you too. 

If you're talking about XPs firewall, there really isn't too much as far 
as configuration.  If you yould need to do something complex forget 
it... can't be done.

Also, what happes if you are unlucy enough to get an XP, per SP2 box?  
You can't put it online to patch it or it'll ge virused.  You can't 
leave it unpached or you'll have spyware, pop-ups, and other nasties on 
your system in no time.  It's a lose/lose situation.

No matter how good your firewall is on your OS, it'll never be as good 
as a seperate firewall device.  Firewalls are meant to segregate a 
trusted network from an untrusted network.  A device that does not have 
the ability to be compromised and used as an attack point is much better 
than any interactive OS based firewall.
