I used the debootstrap install to run some 32-bit games (Wolf-ET, Q3 
etc) and it seemed to work well. It even ran some windows games with 
Cedega. I mostly followed this guide: 
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=24575

Using an existing install is possible, but I didn't have any luck with it.
