I'm not exactly sure what I have done, but ever since I made XFCE my default enviroment, for some reason it is picking up all my Gnome Desktop settings including icons on the desktop and the curren gnome wallpaper. These settings are then carried over to Gnome if I have to log into it for whatever reason. Simon
