Install the packages:
fakeroot
debhelper
and set the environment variable DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS to the options you
normally passes to "./configure" when compiling MPlayer. And from the
top level directory of the CVS MPlayer issue the command:
fakeroot debian/rules binary
Wait a few minutes (depending on your system speed) and if everything
goes okay, you should find a file "../mplayer_1.0cvs_i386.deb". Yes,
it's *that* easy!
You _might_ want to edit the first line of "debian/changelog" from:
mplayer (1.0cvs) unstable; urgency=low
to:
mplayer (1.0cvs-20050426) unstable; urgency=low
so that the version in the repository and the deb file reflects when did
you created the file! The file in that case will be:
../mplayer_1.0cvs-20040426_i386.deb
