cinelerra isnt that easy to install, i used alien to get the rpm to a
deb, but its missing some libXxf86vm.so.1 that i cant find (Cept in
some other rpm, but thats how i screwed up mandrake was by installing
random rpm libs trying to get something to work.....)... avidemux isnt
easy to install either, and this one is in the freaking synaptic
library! ive heard good things about lives, but suprise suprise it
doesnt work either... the only few ive gotten to work are kino and
gmencoder, i thought that would be great, converting say, realmedia
files to mpeg editing with kino, then converting them back... BAM
nothing converts in gmencoder (Well nothing i already have) and kino
cant even open the mpegs i have! its all one big headache, and im sick
of freaking codecs and different media types.... all i want to do is
add an intro to a rm file someone ripped for me.... why is this so hard
on an OS that is so superior to windows, yet so easy on said crappy os?
thanks for letting me rant, now if anyone has any ideas, i would love
to hear themmm... and if they are good, u get a cookie...
