Hoary, Totem cannot play 'dvd://'...

this is possibly bug 6118 https://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=6118

its to do with udev not making a link to the dvd drive. this means that totem, or any other player that looks for /dev/dvd instead of /dev/hdc will be unable to find it.

the command

sudo ln -s ../cd-aliases.rules /etc/udev/rules.d

and a reboot, should tell udev to make the link.

the bug is marked "fixed", but i did an upgrade from warty yesterday and had the problem.
