Restarting networking

Actually I'm using a speadstream 5100 for the dsl. It does all the pppoe 
negotiating with the provider. I don't use any pppoe software on the 
computer itself. So, are you saying for that, I just need to plug that 
cable back in and connect from the modem itself rather than the os and 
that should take care of the dsl end?
