Hmm... Have you added wlan0 to /etc/network/interfaces?
iface wlan0 inet dhcp
(for dhcp)
Or
iface wlan0 inet static
address 192.168.0.12
netmask 255.255.255.0
(for static ip)
I would advice to first enable the security of on your router and get it
work. Then play around with security setting..
Please do also have a look at WifiTroubleshooting in the Wiki.
