no sound when playing WMV files

You almost have it ;)

Use the following on the command prompt:

    sudo gedit ~/.xine/catalog.cache
--------------------


and then press crtl + F and find the following:
[/usr/lib/xine/plugins/1.0.0/xineplug_decode_w32dll.so]

scroll down about 8-10 lines and change "decoder_priority=1" to
"decoder_priority=7"

save and exit, and you should be ready to go
