If Azureus is causing problems and its a fault with the vm then you
will never get support for it on these forums as people cannot look
into it. The alternative would be to use a different client. If you
dont need all the features of azureus (and the memory overheads of
running java and azureus) then freeloader seems good:
http://www.ruinedsoft.com/freeloader/
its gtk based so will fit in with ubuntu just fine and the memorty
requirements are much nicer!
alternatively there is gnome-bettorrent or something that is in main -
but its just a nautillus sink and is very basic
