2.6.10-5 Kernel Differences

Thanks, I looked up hdparm, and sure enough the cdrom wasnt in DMA, but
based upon the fact that turning on dma took my transfer cpu utilizatino
down to 5%, I would say it was off on both kernels, so it is odd that
one kernel would transfer from cdrom so much slower (Data rate wise)
than the other.
My on question is, are the hdparm settings permanent? If they arent,
what is the appropriate method for changing the dma setting at boot time.
Either way, I think I am staying back at 2.6.10-3, it is more
responsive, doesnt lock up (knock on wood), and cdrom copying is much
faster.
Thanks a bunch,
Matt
